FAQs

Hemp

⇒ Contains only a trace of THC, (.3%), the amount mandated by the 2018 Farm Bill & FDA.

⇒ It's legal in ALL US states.

⇒ Hemp is also utilized to make food, fiber, rope, paper, bricks, oil, natural plastic, and a lot more.

Marijuana

⇒ Contains approximately 5%-20% THC, the cannabinoid that gets you 'high'.

⇒ Hemp only contains .3% THC.

⇒ Marijuana is legal in 12 US states.

⇒ CBD, or cannabidiol, is produced by the leaves and flowers of female hemp plants.

⇒ YES. Hemp derived CBD containing less than 0.3% THC is legal in the United States under the [2018 Farm Bill].

⇒ All of our products are in compliance with these guidelines.

⇒ CBD is undetectable in saliva but in rare instances trace amounts of THC may be detected. All of our products comply with the law and contain less than 0.3% of THC by volume.

⇒ ABACA also carries Broad Spectrum CBD with ZERO THC. It has the same cannabinoid profile with no THC. It’s an excellent alternative for those who don’t want THC but want to benefit from CBD.

⇒ However, since full-spectrum CBD products contain trace amounts of THC, using CBD may lead to a positive drug test. It all depends on the product’s quality, composition, and how much you’re taking. Think of it like poppy seeds and the effect they may have on opiate drug tests.

There are basically (3) types of CBD being sold:

Full Spectrum

⇒ Contains all the compounds found in the full plant – CBD along with 100+ other cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes, and essential oils.

⇒ Research indicates this is the most effective type

Broad Spectrum

⇒ Similar to Full Spectrum, containing all the plant compounds, but has zero THC.

⇒ This is an excellent option for individuals that don’t want any THC but want the benefits that CBD has to offer.

Isolate

⇒ This is only the isolated CBD molecule.

⇒ Isolates undergo extensive refinement and require more plant matter in order to get concentrated amounts of CBD.

⇒ NO. Hemp seed oil is similar to olive oil, produced by cold pressing the seeds but contains no CBD, no THC, and no plant cannabinoids.

⇒ It’s a good seed oil that’s high in antioxidants, omega-3, and -6 fatty acids.

⇒ First of all, we vet all of our CBD products and sell only premium grade Hemp CBD.

⇒ We ensure that all products are third-party lab tested, grown organically, and tested by us for efficacy.

⇒ We primarily carry Full-Spectrum products as research indicates that whole plant extracts provide an enhanced level of relief versus CBD isolates. (Think of taking a vitamin C pill vs. eating the entire orange)

⇒ We also carry Broad-spectrum (entire plant minus THC) products for people who don't want or can't have THC.

⇒ Second, we provide extensive educational and resource materials so people can determine what best fits them. We're also happy to answer questions by text or phone.

⇒ NO. Properly sourced Hemp CBD products contain less than 0.3% THC, a trace amount and governed by law. Hemp-derived CBD will not get you high.

⇒ In many studies CBD has shown to have a multitude of health benefits.

⇒ There are many CBD users reporting phenomenal results and research indicates excellent findings.

⇒ Check out our Resources page that has links to research, articles, and news about CBD.

⇒ There is no ‘correct’ CBD amount. The optimal serving size depends on several factors, such as body type & weight, CBD tolerance, and the level of pain or discomfort.

⇒ There are often serving amounts on the packaging to refer to. Read this article to see what science has to say.

⇒ More importantly, to get the full benefits it must be taken consistently and on a daily basis.

⇒ The rule of thumb is ‘start low and go slow’ – meaning start low in milligrams and slowly increase if needed.

Sourcing – Where & How Is the Hemp Grown?

⇒ It’s important to know where the hemp is sourced and how it’s grown. All our products come from US farmers with years of experience growing hemp, all employing organic methods.

⇒ Hemp regulations are a big component of all our vendor's ethics as they want to ensure only the best products make it to the marketplace.

Certificate of Analysis (COA) – Has the CBD been Tested by a 3rd Party Lab?

⇒ Quality CBD products have a COA lab report confirming the levels of CBD, THC, and other compounds in the product.

⇒ This report verifies that you’re receiving what’s shown on the product label.

⇒ ABACA shows the COAs in all our product listings.

Are the Claims Too Good to Be True?

⇒ Beware of companies making explicit health claims or irresponsibly marketing CBD products by making unsanctioned assertions about medical benefits. This is not allowed by the FDA.

⇒ ABACA provides CBD resources & information to help guide customers.

⇒ CBD works with our Endocannabinoid System (ECS), an extensive receptor system, regulating the function of the brain, endocrine, and immune systems.

⇒ The ECS controls how cells communicate by sending, receiving, and processing messages. It works to maintain a consistent and healthy internal environment.

⇒ Within the ECS, CBD stimulates the CB1 & CB2 receptors to help regulate health, wellness, and mood in the entire body.

⇒ The CB1 receptors are found primarily in the brain and nervous system - coordinating movement, pain, emotion, mood, thinking, appetite, memories, and other functions.

⇒ The CB2 receptors are part of the immune system and they affect inflammation and pain.

⇒ When the CB1 & CB2 receptors are activated by the CBD it helps improve how our body’s different systems and organs function.

⇒ Cannabinoids, of which CBD has 100+, are naturally occurring compounds found in the cannabis plant that interact directly with the body’s CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors.

⇒ Cannabinoids develop in the resin glands on the flower and leaves of cannabis plants.

⇒ CBD is found in the resin glands on the flower and leaves of cannabis plants.

⇒ Both hemp and marijuana contain CBD but hemp has a higher concentration which is the reason it’s farmed for this cannabinoid.

⇒ CBD is a non-intoxicating compound and shows great promise in treating and managing symptoms of a broad range of diseases.
